Started in the south of Italy and now based in Edinburgh, UK, Fab Design was founded by Annarita Milella and Francesco D'Ambrosio, a creative wife-husband duo with a passion for great stories, characterful design, and pixel-perfect animation.

Our Process

Discovery

To start with, we just want to talk to you. You know your product better than anyone, so we want to learn everything we can about it, ask you loads of questions, and only once we feel we understand your wants and needs, we can start getting to work.

Idea

After our initial conversation, we're usually full of ideas about the possible directions we could explore to get you from A to B. And usually, first ideas can be improved. So we take time to explore, write, rewrite and refine our creative direction, until we're certain that we're on the right path to fulfill your vision.

Design

You love the initial idea. Awesome! Now we can seriously get into the weeds. After all, telling stories through visuals is what we do best. So we start from the initial concept to narrow our sights on a visual language that best communicates and connects with your audience.

Animation

Now it's when it gets really interesting. The idea is solid, the script is written and the design is perfected. This is when we bring it all together, and when the idea solidifies into the final product. We think details are important, so we spend a lot of time tweaking each pixel and perfecting every keyframe to make sure your animation is as great as it deserves to be.

Sound

Visuals are key, but more often than not, great audio can really elevate a video and bring it to life even more. Whether it's voiceover, soundtrack or sound effects, we take care of it all. And even though this is often the last piece in the puzzle of our process, we start thinking about it from the very beginning, to make sure we're hitting all the right notes.

What can we do?

  • Flat design, illustrated characters, heck, even skeuomorphism. Whichever style of 2D animation works best for your brand, we can handle it.

  • Sometimes, you just need an extra dimension to really showcase what you're all about. Whether simple geometric shapes, or photorealistic product renders, if we can imagine it, we can do it.

  • We love working on things that move. But sometimes, a picture can tell a thousand stories all on its own. Illustration is the cornerstone of all our visual work, and we are gosh darn good at making pretty pictures that make you shine.

  • It all starts with a good story. And whether that comes from you or us, when the time comes to put pen to paper, we love tweaking and refining those stories to make sure your message is heard loud and clear.

  • The icing on the cake of what we do, we think audio is a huge part of the video making process. Sometimes, all that's needed is a great voiceover. Sometimes, an orchestra is required to bring a soundtrack to life and elevate the content of your video. We collaborate with some of the best composers and audio editors around, so your voice can shine through.
